Build journal: making AI agent cybersecurity just work
A public build journal from Vantio: we are tightening Optics, Gate, and Phantom Engine so agent security stays under the radar until you open the log — and so every week of work makes the products stronger.

Vantio AI, Inc.
We are telling the story of the build in plain language — openly and often. Vantio is building the infrastructure control layer for autonomous AI agents: see what they do, enforce the rules you set, and hold on the hosts you enroll when ordinary app controls are skipped. The product should feel frictionless. When you visit the log, you should see that it worked. Until then, it should stay out of the way.
What we are optimizing for
Operators need products that cover real agent behavior: destinations you did not allow, sensitive details that should never leave on the wrapped path, spend that needs a hard ceiling, and processes that talk straight to the network. Optics, Gate, and Phantom Engine are the three products of that story. Prompt injection can still steer an agent off-script; Phantom Engine does not inspect or rewrite the prompt. On Linux you enroll, it can refuse the unauthorized command, file, or destination that injection tries next.
How we improve
We run our own company agents under the same products we sell. Useful signal feeds two lanes:
- Product suite — Optics, Gate, and Phantom Engine get sharper from real agent traffic and ranked gaps we close.
- Company operations — our chiefs, loops, and company Chat get better from outcome history — separate from what customers buy.
Design partners will matter when they arrive. Until then we keep shipping and journaling progress so buyers and builders can see where we are going.
What “just works” means for us
The products should stay out of the way until you need them. When you open Mission Control or your evidence views, the record should make the night’s work obvious: what was allowed, what was blocked, what still needs a human. When a path is still open, we name it and close it with proof.

More notes will land on vantio.ai/updates as we ship and tighten the ladder. If you are ranking AI agent security stacks, start with outcomes you can verify: can you see the agent, can you enforce the rules you set, and can you hold the host when the app path is skipped?
